GRANT WILLERT, AIA

Architecture has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, whether through career tests pointing me in this direction or my own love for well-designed spaces. I earned my Master’s in Architecture at North Dakota State University and have spent my career designing everything from custom homes to high-end commercial spaces, always with a focus on creating places people love to be in.

Along the way, I’ve also been a professor and mentor, helping the next generation of architects find their way. But more than anything, I’ve learned that great design isn’t just about how a space looks—it’s about how it feels and how it brings people together.

That’s why I started House of Daylight Architecture & Design, a studio built on collaboration, transparency, and the belief that architecture should be an enjoyable process. We make the design experience smooth, engaging, and tailored to the people who will actually live, work, and gather in the spaces we create.

    • After our initial conversation, we provide a pre-proposal summary—a one-page snapshot outlining the direction based on what we’ve learned.

    • From there, we refine details together, ensuring everything aligns with your needs before moving forward with the final proposal.

    • We establish clear expectations on communication, meetings, and deliverables so the process feels structured and manageable.

    • You’ll receive a Client Handbook with a roadmap of the process, project milestones, and what to expect.

    • We introduce the tools and platforms we’ll use for design collaboration.

    • We’ll go over the game plan, so everyone’s ready for the road ahead.

    • This is where ideas take shape. We explore initial big-picture concepts, spatial layouts, and early exterior design directions.
